Hawks Jewel ran fifth in the A4 graded race at last Saturday's BAGS meeting in Poole.
Dolly running from trap two did not get out well and met trouble at the first bend.
This left her in last place at the second bend and with a lot to do.
She did recover well enough but was unable to find any gaps to pass the other dogs.
Though she did manage to run on into fifth place at the finish.
Dolly is out again tomorrow (Saturday) in the afternoon BAGS meeting at Poole.
Hopefuly she will get a better run.

Dolly Starts The New Year With A Win
Hawks Jewel won her first race of the new year at Poole last week.
Dolly was given a double upgrade to an A5 grade after winning the A7 the week before.
Running from trap two she flew out of the box but still met trouble at the first bend.
She recovered well to be in second place behind Ballymac Destiny in trap four coming into the third bend.
Dolly took the lead at the forth bend to win in the time of 27.65 seconds (normal going) with Larkhill Fantasy in trap six running on, one length behind into second place.
This makes it three wins in only six races for the April 08 black bitch.
Dolly races again in an A4 at Poole in tomorrow afternoon's BAGS meeting.

Dolly Wins Booming Well On Boxing Day
Hawks Jewel gave us a late christmas present by winning her race on Boxing Day morning.
Running in the A7 grade at Poole. Dolly was given the handy trap one draw that she has been crying out for.
She flew out of the traps and managed to get clear to the rails at the first bend.
Afterwards it was a matter of catch us if you can as she led all the way to the line to win by six and a quarter lengths.
Her winning time was 27.72 seconds.
The going was given as -30 which gave her a calculated time of 27.42 seconds.
This was her second win in only five races so she is progressing very well.
We are extremely pleased with how Dolly has quickly taken to racing.
She has shown the same determination to racing as her mother Bessie had on the track.
The added bonus is that she is certainly one of the nicest natured greyhounds you could ever meet.
Hopefully (fingers crossed) 2010 will be a good year on the track for her.

Dolly Out On Boxing Day
Hawks Jewel was third in the A7 at Poole on Saturday 5th December.
Running from trap two, she did not get out very well and met trouble at the first bend.
But recovered but only enough to finally finish in third place.
Dolly is out again on Saturday 26th December after a three week break from racing.
She will run out of trap one in the A7 graded race at Poole.
We will all be there on Boxing day morning to see her run.
Hopefully there will be some more Christmas cheer to celebrate.

Dolly Comes Forth On Super Paws Semi Final Night
Hawks Jewel ran forth at a very wet Poole Stadium last night.
Despite heavy rain causing the afternoon BAGS meeting to be abandoned.
The evening meeting went ahead with racing starting 15 minutes late with the heavy downpour stopping minutes before the first race was run.
Dolly running from trap two was made the even money favourite for the A7 graded race over 450 meters.
Despite trapping quite well and getting ahead of the dog in trap one she met trouble at the first bend when running into the back of the runner in trap three.
This seemed to knock the wind out of her a bit and after losing a bit of distance she could only recover enough to run into forth place five and a half lengths behind the winner Macbally Brindi in trap four.
The winning time was 27.57 seconds (normal going).
It was also the semi finals of The Jem Racing Super Paws with the first three going through to the final on Friday 4th December.
The first semi final was won by Lifes Burble (trap 5) in the time of 26.84 seconds with Musical Jack (trap 1) and Harrys Yer Man (trap 4) qualifying in second and third places.
The second semi final was won by Lynwood Bolt in trap 5 with Hillcross Orion (trap 6) and Seanis Lad (trap 1) taking the reamainding places.
Lifes Burble (Brett Lee x Lifes Beauty) was bred by Larry Byrne at Coolgreaney in County Wexford.
Larry also bred Dolly so it was nice to see him win his semi final heat.
Good luck to all the finalists of The Super Paws on Saturday.
